This past weekend, we hosted a "Couples shower" at our house. Our friends Emily and Jonathan are getting married in December, so this was their first shower/kick-off to wedding festivities. With a lot of help from the other bridesmaids, we had a fantastic Luah party:) The theme for the gifts was "Times of our lives" so each person was assigned a time of day, such as: breakfast time, cooking time, grilling time, shower time, decorating time, entertaining time, etc. We served several types of summer salads, including: Oriental slaw, 2 pasta salads, and broccoli salad. We also had fruit kabobs (delicious and very colorful), green beans, cheesy potatoes, and chicken! We should start our own catering company...jk!
I can't wait for more fun wedding activities with Emily!:)
The bride and groom-to-be. I can't wait to see Emily on her wedding day...she will be a beautiful bride!
A shot from the side of our house before the 65+ guest arrived. It was so pretty and bright. We were blessed with a beautiful evening...it could have been so much more hot at the end of July:)
The cake! One of Emily's bridesmaids (and her mom) made this cake to look like our invitation. They did a fantastic job. Also, Emily's Grandma made homemade candies/sweets to go along with our dessert. Everything tasted YUMMY!
The bridesmaids with the bride:) From left to right: Shellie, Laine, Emily, Crystal, Mary Elizabeth, and Jennifer! This party was so much fun! Thanks to all who helped make it so successful!!!

Mom told me that they went and had a great time. We've got to get together and play. I definitely want to take Jackson to Pullen Park since I went there so often as a kid. YAY...fun times to be had!
