Goodbye, Jaundice...

Early Sunday morning at the hospital, we found out that Griffin had jaundice...this was a worry of mine because Weston had it as a newborn. It is usually handled quickly with no complications...however, laying on a bili-bed was the start of Weston's "no napping longer than 20 minute" streak. They lay on the bili-bed (see below) and aren't swaddled at all. With every small noise, Weston would jump out of his skin...he could not rest.

I just cried when our nurse told us that Griffin was going to be on the bili-bed. However, he handled it much better. He continued to sleep normally and was off the bed 24 hours later.

ThoughWeston's jaundice was much worse, he got rid of it very quickly...he ate, pooped, and gained weight very quickly. Infact, one day after leaving the hospital Weston was back to birth weight. Well, Griffin...not so much.

Griffin was born at 8lbs/7oz. He lost to 8 lbs by the end of the second night. He stayed around 8 lbs while at the hospital. Last Tuesday at the doctors office...he dropped to 7lb/15 oz...then on Thursday, he dropped another ounce. He was eating...but not gaining. We went to the doctor again today, and I'm happy to say...he is gaining...back to 8lbs/4ounces....6 ounces since Thursday...yay!!
Jaundice is out the door and we don't go back until his 1 month check up!! :)

Griffin on his bili-bed!

A kiss from big brother...

At today's doctor's visit...yay for no more visits for a few weeks!
