Mini-Vacation Part 1

We went on a "mini" family vacation this week. Our first stop was the NC Zoo in Asheboro. We had a BLAST! Weston loved the animals. Even though we got a later than planned start, he did a great job and we were able to hold off on his nap.
Checking out the Gorillas. This was one of the best stops because they came straight over to us when they saw us stop to look in. One ate a head of cabbage while the other walked around and cleaned up the left over pieces....You could tell the male/female...hehe.

Taking the tram from Africa to North America...Weston thought this was tons of fun because he had never been in a moving vehicle when he wasn't in his carseat.

Can't resist the "from behind" shots in black/white....they were looking at the Elk. Weston said "elk" at least 100 times...

Picture him going "RAHH" like a bear/lion. Too cute!

Cute picture with Daddy!

Quick pose with Mommy...

Mr. Independent walking by himself.

Cutest ZooKeeper I've EVER seen!

We were able to get very close to the elephant because the Zoo was doing an interview with a local news station and the elephant was their "background."

We left the zoo at 3:00 (2 1/2 hours after Weston's normal nap time. In fact, we looked at the clock and it said 3:03, and he was completely asleep at 3:06...We had an exausted little boy! It was a great trip and we will visit again next year, I'm sure!

We left the zoo and headed toward BassPro Shop at Concord Mills for Mini-Vacation Part 2.
