Truth Trek: Backyard Bible School....

A local chuch hosted several "backyard bible schools" in area neighborhoods this year instead of the normal VBS at the church. Our neighbors are members of Central Baptist, so they hosted "Truth Trek: Searching for God's Treasures" for Tuscan Ridge (our neighborhood). We were able to attend a couple of nights and Weston really enjoyed himself. I was amazed when I watched him listen to the stories and participate. Of course, we read Bible stories at home all the time, but it was neat to see him watch and "copy" the older kids.

All the kids listening to the Bible story!

Crafts!!
They used letter beads to personalize sun glasses!

Digging for "treasures".
Snack time...always a favorite for kids! This is Weston with our neighbor, Blake!

Listening to directions for recreation....Mr. Grownie!

He must have listened well because he LOVED the relay race. He ran to "Egypt" and back before handing off his ball to the child!

I just love watching men at work...these guys running "recreation" were a hoot! My favorite line was from Tony (the one holding the little girl)...he said, "Brigit (his wife), can you make them be quiet and listen?" in a sort of whiney voice...hehe!

Thank you Central Baptist for the great idea of "Backyard Bible School"...and thank you Piercy's for hosting for Tuscan Ridge!
